On Tuesday, Johnny Depp graced the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival. He attended the screening of “Jeanne du Barry,” a historical drama that portrays the life of King Louis XV’s mistress. The movie is directed by Maïwenn, who also stars as the titular character. Meanwhile, Depp takes on the role of the French monarch. The actor looked dashing in a black suit, which he paired with platform patent leather Oxfords and a white button-down shirt. “Jeanne du Barry” serves as Depp’s first film since 2020.

Maïwenn wore a black velvet gown with bows attached to each shoulder.
